                           **LOST DACHSHUND**
This sweet little doxie was let out of his kennel in my stable on the 6th of June and has disappeared. We were told a person in Kennett Square, PA has him, but can not verify this. . He is young ( around 4) and has just been neutered.  He needs meds for his post neuter surgery, and for a case of Kennel Cough. He has a bright blue collar on with tags from the PA. SPCA. He was last see on Hannum Mill Rd, in Chatham, Pa ( Chester County). We are very worried about him and would be grateful for any information. He is very small, short haired and brown. Very sweet but a little shy. If you know of anyone finding a little doxie recently please call me at 610 869 9570, or send an email to merrywinnie@nni.com . Thank you in advance for any help!!

 PETEY

Petey is a very handsome little man. We honestly don't know if he is a Toy Fox Terrier, Rat Terrier, or a Feist.  We will have better photos soon.  He arrived here complete with kennel cough, so he won't be available until he is fully recovered.  Petey has been very well mannered in his isolation room so far.  He is housebroken and loves to be petted and talked to.  Petey had 2 seizures when he first arrived here.  He is on Phenobarbital and has not had any recurrence.  Other then that, our vet feels there are no other health problems.  We believe he was turned in to a Phila. area shelter because he was afraid of the children in the family.  He did not bite anyone, but he is afraid to be pulled out of a crate or anything similar.  Petey is good in the car, and walks well on leash.  He is 9 yrs. old, weighs about 7 lbs. (hopefully he will gain some weight), is neutered and utd date with his vaccines. We will update when he is over the kennel cough and we get to know him better.  If you'd like to give this handsome gent a loving home, please fill in our
adoption application or email merrywinnie@nni.com with questions.  Adoption Fee: $100.  5/7/08

PENNY

Penny is a beautiful 10 lb. 9 yr. old Poodle who came in with her friend Gypsy who has since been adopted.  The girls were given up when their family had a baby.  Penny is a real treasure, she is housebroken and well mannered.  She wants nothing more than to be with a new owner, snuggling on the couch or going for a ride in the car.  Penny has diabetes which is kept under control with two insulin injections per day.  She behaves perfectly when getting her shots.  Other than the diabetes, Penny's health is good, she is utd with vaccines, had blood work done, and is heartworm negative.  We will miss her when she gets adopted because she really is a delightful little dog. *NO TODDLERS PLEASE* If you can give Penny a wonderful home, please fill in our adoption application or email merrywinnie@nni.com with questions.  Adoption Fee: $200.  5/7/08

MIKEY

Mikey is an eleven year old Maltese who has been through a rough time. He had pneumonia right before coming here and then stopped eating. He smelled just horrible and after a lot of very good vet work from my vet it turned out he has an autoimmune problem with his tongue. We are trying him on Doxycycline plus Medicam and is doing very well on it so far. Meanwhile he has been eating very well and changed from being a skeleton to a happy relatively healthy Maltese. His coat is starting to come back in and he is going to be gorgeous when it does. He weighs about 7 lbs now and could probably gain a little more. He is housebroken, very laid back and well behaved, gets along with all the dogs here as long as they don't come near him when he is eating. He enjoys walks and car rides. *NO CHILDREN PLEASE*. He is a good little watch dog but not yappy at all. Mikey needs a dedicated owner who will provide whatever medical care he may need for his health condition. He will only be for adoption if the treatment works for him as this is a very painful condition if it doesn't respond to treatment, otherwise will stay here until we find a treatment. If you are interested in giving Mikey a loving home please fill in our adoption application or email merrywinnie@nni.com with questions. An adoption donation will be required. Update: Mikey is doing very well on his meds for his tongue problem. Eating well, gaining weight and a very happy little dog. He is on Doxycycline now with a little Prednisone which seems to be doing a great job with him. I know he would rather be with his own family rather than with the houseful of dogs here.    6/14/08

SUMI

Sumi is the cutest, sweetest little guy you can imagine. When you go to pet him he smiles at you ( he really does) and rolls over on his back to get a tummy rub. He is great at training his human. He is good with dogs ( I can test him with cats), loves people, going for walks, tummy rubs, food, tummy rubs and just doing anything where someone is idolizing him. He would make anyone a great companion. He is mostly housbroken. He just had been neutered and his housebreaking is improving daily. He is utd on vaccines, hw negative. I will be making an appt with my vet to get his teeth cleaned but other than that and getting a soft growth on his back checked his is ready to go. He is quite active but I think due to his size and age ( around 8 to ten years old) *NO TODDLERS PLEASE*. If you can give Sumi the wonderful home he desrves please fill out in our adoption application  or email merrywinnie@nni.com with questions. Adoption fee: $150   6/14/08

SWEETIE PIE

Sweetie Pie came from a puppy mill in Iowa where she lived in a cage for 7 years producing one litter of puppies after another. When she first came from Ohio another foster lady took her but couldn't cope with the problems that come with a mill rescue so I offered to take her here and work with her. . This dog is very scared but very sweet if you let her do everything at her speed she is fine. She likes to be scratched between her front legs but if you reach over her head to pat her she is terrified. She is really enjoying going for walks now and I always take another quiet dog with us when I take her. She is not housebroken but I believe once she learns what a good dog she is when she goes outside it won't take her long to learn. But it could take a long time so if you are bothered by a sweet little dog who will have accidents for a while she will not be the right dog for you. She should go to a quiet house , no children, and a fenced in yard. I will not adopt her to anyone that would crate her. I think 7 years in a cage is enough. she will be getting her vaccines and her spay surgery as soon as I can get an appointment at my vets. She is great with the dogs here and doesn't pay any attention to the cats when we are walking. I have to leave a leash dragging from her harness so I can step on the leash when I want her but she is rapidly improving on that. She is a sweet, gentle little lady who deserves to learn what a good life can be. If you are interested in adopting her please fill in our adoption application  or email merrywinnie@nni.com with questions. Adoption fee: $200 to help with her vet expenses. 7/8/08

QUE TIP

Que Tip is the tiniest, cutest little toy poodle. He was dumped at a shelter and was just a big mat of hair ( which was all shaved off) and he had to have 21 teeth extracted, he is eating soft food now with no problem. He weighs about 8 lbs, 9 years old, just loves to be the center of attention, is housebroken as long as you take him out. He is utd on his vaccines and is Heartworm negative, had his dental ( he does have 5 teeth left). He has been fine with the small dogs here but I think is scared of my 2 lab mixes and lets out a huge shriek if they try and come up to him. He has gotten better about his in the last few days. He isn't mean but I believe scared. He is so tiny and because of his age no small children please. Q would love to have a home where he could snuggle next to his own person all day long and go for walks. He would make a perfect companion for a senior person or any other person as far as that goes. If you can give Que Tip the wonderful home he deserves please fill in our adoption application or email merrywinnie@nni.com with questions.  Adoption Fee : $175.   8/1/08
